Question:
What is the preferred method for connecting the cable to setup the QUASAR MRI 4D motion phantom in the control room?
Answer:
The preferred method of connecting the cable into the MR room is to use a penetration panel in the equipment room.
If using the penetration panel, attach the motor cable to a 15-pin, D-sup, unfiltered adapter on the panel. Be sure to make a note of the location.
Bring the control box into the equipment room and attach a second cable from the corresponding location on the penetration panel to the control box.
If using the penetration panel is not possible you can run the cables through a waveguide to the console room. If used, this method requires an adapter to link the cables together and give a common ground point. Insert the provided brass sponges around the adapter to ground the cable to the waveguide conduit.
Now the other end of the cable can be connected to the control box in the control room.
Use an existing Ethernet cable to connect the control box to your PC.
Connect your power supply.
You can now connect to the software.
