The DICOM Listener is used for DICOM data import with Listening mode. It is independent of the myQA SW and needs to be installed separately.
The DICOM Listener will act as a service for multiple myQA clients. Administrative rights are required to
install and use the DICOM Listener.
Installing the DICOM Listener SW
- Copy the file, DicomListener.exe, from the myQA SW CD to your PC.
- Right-click DicomListener.exe and select Run as administrator in the context menu.
- Follow the instruction in the opened DicomServerConfigurationSettings Setup wizard.
- Once the installation finishes, a shortcut icon will be created on the PC.
- If the box, , in the last installation step is checked, after clicking the Finish button, the Dicom Server Configuration Settings dialog will open after provided administrator account credentials.
Starting the Listening Service
- Right-click the Dicom Server Configuration Settings shortcut icon and select Run as administrator in
the context menu. - After providing administrator account credentials, the Dicom Server Configuration Settings dialog
opens with default settings (the local DICOM listener port)Port: DICOM listener port number. The default for local listening port is 998, which is always open.
AET: Application Entity Title. The default AET for local listener port is IBA_Listening.
Start / Stop button: Click to start / stop listening to the DICOM data. - Click the Start button to start listening when the local listener port is used.
Changing the Local DICOM Listener Port
- If a different DICOM listener port is used, enter its port number and AET in the Dicom Server
Configuration Settings dialog.
CAUTION: VERIFY THE SETTING OF THE DICOM LISTENER PORT
Verify the setting of the DICOM listener port. Ensure that the port is available for the
DICOM import. To improve the network security, it is advisable to close unused ports
when not needed.
