Question
How can I refill the contrast liquid in the fillable inserts for my QUASAR MRI 4D Motion Phantom or my QUASAR Multi-Purpose Body Phantom?
Answer
The contrast liquid inside the fillable acrylic inserts can be created by diluting manganese chloride tetrahydrate (MnCl2 · 4H20) with an appropriate volume of DI water. A full explanation of the Contrast solution can be found in Appendix 6 of the MRI4D User Guide, which is attached at the end of this article.
We would like to advise you purchase stock solution (Manganese chloride MnCl2) from our recommended suppliers and perform this directly on your site. Although IBA QUASAR provides a small amount of Manganese chloride (MnCl2) with each MRI4D, we are not well-suited to be the primary source for chemical solution refills.
Please see info below that includes two Canadian suppliers and the C.A.S number of the MnCl2 that we purchase. Hopefully, this information will help you find a local supplier of the same chemical. If you can purchase a 100g bottle, you should have enough solution to support your team for a lifetime.
Our team purchases from the suppliers below. 100g for approx. 300$CDN
- C.A.S number should allow customers to search for the same chemical from a different supplier: 13446-34-9
