Question
How to set TMR measurement in BP2 tank?
Answer
Important Consideration:
The water reservoir type 307/1 (230 Volt) or 307/2 (115 Volt) provided with a unidirectional water pump are not suitable to be used with the TMR option.
This option requires the water reservoir types 306/1 or 306/2 (part number HA05-000 or HA05-010) respectively with bidirectional pump.
Setup for TMR Measurements:
You may follow the following simple procedures for quality TMR measurements:
Step 1 Cable Connection:
The cable to the water reservoir must be connected to the PUMP CONTROL connector and the HA05-adapter cable E1149620 on the Blue Phantom2 connection box.
Step 2 Verify the Water Level:
Fill the Blue Phantom2 with water only to approximately 15 cm height. Since the measurement starts at the water surface, you will otherwise not have enough scan length available.
Note: Leave the water hose connected to the phantom during measurements.
Step 3 Ensure position of the float:
Verify that the float of the TMR probe also sits on the water surface.
Step 4 Precisely Position the Detector:
With the remote control, move the detector to the actual water surface in the central beam (use alignment cap if a CC13 is mounted).
Note: Remove the alignment cap before embarking the measurement, when used.
Step 5 Define the Water Surface and Isocenter:
With the remote control, define the water surface and the isocenter position at this point.
Step 6 Use of Markings:
Lift the Blue Phantom2 until the isocenter, indicated by the distance markings of the radiation device, is located at the water surface so that the Linac' s isocenter (Crosspoint of the lasers) match the actual water surface.
Important Notice:
TMR PUMP CONTROL
- It is not necessary to switch the system manually into TMR mode, neither during the above setup procedure nor before starting a measurement.
- Always redefine isocenter and water surface according to the above procedure before selecting a TPR/TMR measurement in the software.
- The detector related correction for effective point of measurement will be considered automatically.
- When switching on the pump, and starts pumping in water, a wave may disturb the measurement. To minimize this effect, the system first pumps 2 cm of water out of the phantom, then reverses the pumping direction. The measurement starts when the previous water surface is reached again. This procedure is only performed when the measurement is done with pumping water in.
