How to Make a Custom Firewall Rule from Communication from myQA Software to Device

Question

How do I add a specific rule to allow my devices through my Hospital firewall to communicate with the myQA Software?

Answer

The following tasks will require admin rights and may need to be performed by your Network IT resource. 

Step 1

Launch your Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security

Step 2

Click on Inbound Rules and click add new rule

Choose Custom Rule Type

Set file path for myQA

Set Any Protocol (Can set TCP specific), all ports.

Choose Any IP Addresses

Allow Connection

Select Domain, Private and Public

All Done. 

 

If you or your IT are uncomfortable opening all ports. Here is the link to each device with the ports associated. Follow the same steps but enter specific ports.

Another fast way of allowing specific ports through your firewall is using the attached script.

Copy the code from the ports of the devices you would like to add to your firewall rules, run a Windows PowerShell prompt as Administrator, paste the code and press enter.
