Question
What is part of a Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) on a BP2 with CCU?
Answer
During the Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI), your instrument passes through our factory and calibration laboratory for in-depth inspection. The following device-specific test steps are carried out. After passing this protocol, a Certificate of Compliance from the CCU, and a Certificate of Calibration of the Water Phantom confirms that your measuring equipment meets our high quality standards.
Inspection protocol for BluePhantom² or SMARTSCAN with CCU:
- Visual inspection and serial number control of all components
- Functional test of the complete system
- Firmware testing and update
- Test bench test of the CCU
- Mechanics test and maintenance of the phantom
- Movement test of all rails
- Testing and maintenance of mechanical components
- Adjusting orthogonality
- Laser calibration of magnetostrictive sensors
- Calibration of the absolute position in all axes
- Positioning accuracy is ensured with a calibration step size of 3 millimeters
- Confirmation and certification of absolute positioning accuracy of +/- 0.1mm
- Electrical calibration of the CCU
- Cleaning the device
- Completeness check
- Zeroing of all rails and final functional test of the complete system
- Formal certification of compliance and calibration
- Affixing the quality seals
In the event of failure to pass one or more test steps or the need for a significant mechanical repair, corrective measures are recommended and an appropriate cost estimate is prepared.
