myQA Accept SW Introduction

Intended Use

myQA Accept is a software application utilizing hardware components such as water phantoms, scanners, and detectors to measure, verify, and analyze radiation dose distributions in radiotherapy.

The non-intended use of myQA Accept that can endanger users, third parties or damage the equipment include the following in all operation modes:

  • Using for purposes other than the intended use.

  • Operating in a manner that contradicts the instructions regarding safety, installation, operation, and maintenance contained in the manual.

  • Operating in the event of an obvious fault.

  • Operating using accessories that have not been approved by IBA Dosimetry.

CAUTION!: NO PATIENT QA FUNCTIONALITY

myQA Accept does not provide Patient QA functionality. For those purposes, myQA Patients must be used.

The myQA Accept system is to be used by the personnel with the following expertise:

Medical Physicists / Dosimetrists:

Users having the main responsibility for the treatment safety in the radiotherapy department. This includes the definition of the QA tasks to be carried out, their frequency and the acceptance criteria. The medical physicist is responsible for commissioning all dosimetry related QA devices and may override individual pass/fail results at his own discretion.

Dosimetric Assistants:

Users responsible for carrying out the recurring quality assurance tasks. The dosimetric assistants will not define QA tasks and their acceptance criteria. The dosimetric assistants do not have discretion in judging the results of QA measurements.

 

Intended Patient Population and Indications for Use

The intended patient population is anyone undergoing a prescribed radiation therapy.

 

Contraindications and Adverse Effects

There are no contraindications.

 

myQA Accept System

The myQA Accept system consists of the myQA Accept software (SW) and the supported hardware including water phantoms, air scanners, and single or array detectors which are produced by IBA Dosimetry GmbH.

The myQA SW provides an automated verification wizard, SMARTSCAN. Together with the supported measurement devices, it automates the process of analysis and verification of the radiation therapy devices. In general, the SW application is called “myQA Accept”. However, if the SMARTSCAN license is activated, the software application name is changed to “myQA SMARTSCAN”, e.g.,

Note: The name of the software is called “myQA Accept” throughout the manual. When the SW is activated with the SMARTSCAN license, the SW name will be “myQA SMARTSCAN” and the SMARTSCAN button will appear in the Queue panel.

The myQA Accept system can be configured as the software alone or the software in combination with selected devices for 2D and 3D measurements.

Examples of devices supported by myQA Accept are:

  • Phantoms (categorized according to the movement of dimensions the detectors)

    • 3D: Blue Phantom2, SMARTSCAN phantom, and Blue Phantom Helix

    • 2D: Shallow Phantom and Blue PhantomCOMPACT

    • 1D: Blue PhantomPT and WP1D phantom

  • Detectors: CC chambers, farmer-type chambers, plan parallel chambers, diode detectors, and linear detector arrays.

 

System Requirements

Supported Operating systems

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit, US English

Supported SQL servers

  • SQL Server 2019

Minimum Hardware Requirements (or equivalent Virtual Runtime Environments)

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 desktop or mobile processor or better

  • RAM of 8 GB or more

  • Graphics Card: DirectX 9c compatible, 256 MB video RAM, no shared memory

  • Ethernet minimum 10 Mbit/s

  • Ethernet (RJ-45) plug to connect controllers (e.g., the CCU). A second RJ-45 or Ethernet switch is needed if connecting an EmXX for LDA-99 measurements

Supported Screen Resolutions and optimal DPI settings

  • 1920 × 1080 (FHD) with 100% or 125%

  • 2560 × 1600 with 200%

Note: After changing the screen resolution, please restart myQA Accept to take the change in to account.

Virtual Runtime Environments

Full desktop virtualizations simulating the above requirements, e.g.,

  • XEN Desktop 7.15.2000.291 (Windows 10 64bit, 1 user)

  • CitriX single user mode
