Question
My CCU appears completely locked / frozen - the Red "Error" LED is steady on, and the CCU will not accept connections from myQA Accept or XXsetup, even after power-cycling or holding the Reset Button. How do I "hard-reboot" my CCU when it is frozen?
Answer
It may be necessary to fully reset the firmware of the CCU when the hardware is unresponsive or exhibiting communication errors.
In situations where the CCU appears frozen, the following steps can reset it.
Note: following these steps will also reset the IP address to default settings (IP: 169.254.1.1, Subnet: 255.255.0.0). If you are currently using the CCU over your hospital network (i.e. not a direct connection from CCU to measurement computer), you will need to make note of the current IP address seen in myQA Accept, and follow Step 6
-
Turn off power: Ensure that the CCU is powered off completely.
-
Press and hold buttons, restore power: Simultaneously press and hold the AUX and RESET buttons (No. 4 & 5 in the diagram below) while turning power back on
-
Wait for the Error LED: Keep holding the buttons down until the Error LED on the CCU goes out.
-
Release buttons: Once the light is off, release the AUX and RESET buttons.
-
Check functionality: After the reset, check to ensure that the CCU has returned to normal operation by using the hand pendant.
- Restore network settings (if applicable): If you were previously using the CCU over your hospital network, you will need to set again the IP address of the CCU for network use. You can use this article to guide through the process in XXSteup: How do I change the IP address of the CCU?
