Unpacking the Lift Table and Water Reservoir
The packaging for the lift table and water reservoir are similar. Both devices are delivered in a cardboard
box on a wooden pallet.
- Cut and remove fixing straps (1) and remove the edge protections (2).
- Remove the lid (3) and the sidewall. To remove the sidewall, unscrew the locks (4).
- The wood pallet is about 10 cm tall. Use at least two people to move the device off the pallet.
Lift Table
Manual Lift Table
With the exception of the crank handle the manual lift table is delivered completely assembled. Please,
retain the original packing material in case reshipment becomes necessary.
- Carefully unpack the lift table from the box and check for any obvious signs of physical damage that
might have occurred during shipment. Observe the general instructions stated at the beginning of this chapter. - Mount the crank handle on the outgoing shaft of the mitre-gear. The hexagonal nut type M8 delivered with the table is used to fix the crank handle.
- Verify that the lift table is working correctly by fully extending and then lowering it.
The lift table is provided with a crank handle which uses a mitre-gear with a reduction ratio of 1:2. This allows the lifting and lowering of water phantoms with little effort.
- Turning the crank handle clockwise lifts the platform.
- Turning the crank handle counter-clockwise lowers the platform.
- One turn of the crank handle moves the platform by 1.5 mm vertically.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: POSITIONING OF THE LIFT TABLE
The lift table should be placed in a stable position and in such a manner, that collisions of the platform with other items in the near environment are avoided, and that it is possible during normal use to safely perform all tasks concerning the lift table or the water phantom.
Electrical Lift Table
A electrical lift table is delivered completely assembled, without the extended legs. For better stability of the water phantom on the table, the extended legs should be mounted before it can be used. Please, retain the original packing material in case reshipment becomes necessary.
- Carefully unpack the lift table from the box and check for any obvious signs of physical damage that might have occurred during shipment. Observe the general instructions stated at the beginning of this chapter.

- With two persons, carefully move the table out of the crate: first, lift the transportation handle to move one side of the table out of the box. While the two wheels of this side is contacting the floor, lift up the opposite side and move the complete table out of the box.
Inspect the electrical lift table without the extended legs
- Check that the mains connection is in accordance to rating indicated on the lift table's rating label.
- Verify that the lift table is working correctly by moving it over the full vertical range.
- Check the floor condition at those locations where you want to drive or place the lift table. Check that the maximum load capacity of the floor is sufficient.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: OVERHEATING
The telescope drive is not equipped with mechanical end switches. If the highest or lowest position is reached, the drive is stopped by the electrical control unit using an over-current circuit breaker.
Wait until the temperature has decreased significantly before continuing to operate the lift table.
CAUTION: CAUTION WHEN MOVING UP BUTTON
When pressing the Up button of the electrical lift table hand control to move the phantom up, the operator must be aware of the device clearance. Release the Up button to stop the movement before any crashing to avoid any equipment damage.
Assembling the extended legs
Tools (included)
Allen key No. 5 and No. 6 Ring spanner size: 13 mm
Procedure
Step 1. Disassemble the transportation handle and wheels of the lift table
- Hook and loop (velcro) tapes are already glued on one side of the table cabinet and the two provided protection foams (1). Install the two protection foams on the cabinet by pressing the hook and loop tapes together. Ensure that the topside of the foam is flat with the topside of the cabinet.
- Turn the wheel under the handle on the protection foam side to 135˚ to the edge with the protection foams (2) so that no part of the wheel or lock is outside this edge.
- With one person holding the handle and the other holding the opposite side of the table, flip the table 90˚ so that it stands on the protection foams. Ensure that two persons operate this step.
- Disassemble all four wheels of the electrical table with a ring spanner by loosening four screws for each wheel.
- Disassemble the transportation handle by opening two screws from each side of the handle with an
Allen key.
Step 2. Assemble the rails
- Each rail is delivered as two separate parts that are connected with five screws: three on a wider side and one on each of the two narrower sides. Align the two parts of a rail (the wheels should be on the same side; 1) and then screw the 5 screws tightly together in the following order:
a. 1 center screw of the wider side
b. 2 side screws of the wider side
c. 2 screws on both narrow sides - Repeat the same procedure to assemble the other rail.
Step 3. Mount the assembled rails on the table
- With the table still standing on the protection foams, place the rail on the upper side such that the
wheels are on the bottom side of the cabinet and the handle post (1) is on the side of the accessory
drawers (3). - Align the 4 holes on the fixation plate to those originally for the wheel on the bottom of the cabinet (4). Use an Allen key to fix the fixing plate to the cabinet with the designated screws. There are 4 screws for each fixation plate.
Note: If the holes cannot be aligned, loosen the three screws (5) and then move the fixation plate until the holes are aligned (4). Fix these three screws again. - Repeat the same procedure to mount the other rail on the lower side of the cabinet.
- Check that all screws on all four fixation plates are tightly screwed.
Step 4. Mount the handrail to the extended legs
- Fix the transportation handle on the two handle posts of the rails with the 2 provided screws each side with an Allen key.
Step 5. Place the table to the normal position and test the movement of the table
- With two persons, place the table on the normal position (with 4 wheels standing on the floor).
- Move the table by pushing or pulling the transportation handle. Ensure that there are no loose parts during the movement of the table.
WARNING: MOVE OUT OR FLIP THE ELECTRICAL LIFT TABLE WITH TWO PERSONS
When moving the electrical lift table out of the transport crate or flipping the Table 90˚ vertically, ensure that this action is done by two persons to avoid personal injuries or damage of the device.
Water Reservoir
The water reservoir is delivered completely assembled. Carefully unpack it from the transportation case.
Keep the original packing material in case reshipment becomes necessary.
Inspect the Water Reservoir
- Check that the mains connection is in accordance to information indicated on the water reservoir's rating label.
- Check the floor condition at the locations where you want to move or place the water reservoir. Check that the maximum load capacity of the floor is sufficient (see Section 2.4).
Filling the Water Reservoir
The water pump used in this water reservoir is not a suction pump. To achieve a proper function when filling the water phantom, the water hose should initially be placed below the water level in the water reservoir. For the initial use, please proceed as follows:
- Remove the upper wooden plate from the water reservoir carriage.
- Open the round lid of the water tank.
- Fill the reservoir to approximately 5 cm below the lid.
For water reservoirs with bidirectional and unidirectional pumps, the procedure differs slightly. See below for more information.
Water Reservoir with Bidirectional Pump
- Connect the quick-coupler counterpart (the spare part for the fill hose) to the quick coupler of the water reservoir hose and insert it into the open round lid of the water tank
- Press the Fill button and wait until water is pumped into the bucket.
- Press the Stop button.
- Close the round lid of the water tank and put the upper wooden plate back at the water reservoir
carriage. - Stick the hose through one of the two holes of the water reservoir cover panel.
- Remove the quick-coupler counterpart and connect the short hose adapter.
- Put the hose back into the water reservoir. Ensure that the hose is securely in the water reservoir (e.g., insert the end into the second hole of the cover panel).
Water Reservoir with Unidirectional Pump
- Place the hose (without the metal filling tube connected) into a bucket on the floor.
- Turn on the timer of the water reservoir and wait until water is pumped into the bucket.
- Switch the pump off by turning the timer switch back to its 0 position.
- Attach the metal filling tube to the hose and install it in the water phantom.
- Close the round lid of the water tank and put the upper wooden plate back at the water reservoir carriage.
- Put the hose back into the water reservoir. Ensure that the hose is securely in the water reservoir (e.g., insert the end into the second hole of the cover panel).
CAUTION: DRY PUMP
Do not run the pump dry for more than 5 minutes.
CAUTION: FLOODING HAZARD
If water is filled directly into the water reservoir, do not fill in significantly more water than the water phantom can hold.
CAUTION: FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR
Never fill the water reservoir up to the ventilation hole - approximately 5cm below is sufficient.
