The TMR probe consists of a magnetostrictive sensor likewise used for the servo axis, combined with a magnetic float within an acrylic-damping pipe.
When the TPR / TMR option has been purchased with the water phantom initially, the TMR probe is normally already mounted in the water phantom.
However, if the TPR / TMR option is purchased later, follow installation procedure below:
- Ensure that the TMR probe with the float is inserted into the acrylic support tube. The label on the float AAAAAAAAAAAAAAmust be oriented upwards.
- Mount the support tube with the TMR probe in the water phantom.
- Tighten the two fixation screws at the top of the TMR probe.
- Open the front housing of the water phantom connection box to get access to the back panel bar.
- Connect the cable from the TMR probe to the TMR input socket.
- Close the connection box housing and ensure that the cables will not be squeezed when doing so.
- Connect the phantom to the control unit and switch the power on.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: CCU BOOT DELAY
When a TMR probe has been mounted into the water phantom, the CCU will recognize this automatically and read-out all sensor calibration data first. When connected for the first time, this process can take up to 10 minutes. - Push the Zeroing button at the remote control to enter the corresponding sub-menu.
- Verify that the float of the TMR probe is at its lowest position.
- Push the corresponding zero button to define the zero position of the TMR probe.
The TMR probe usually remains in the water phantom. For TPR / TMR measurements, the remote control cable coming from the water reservoir must be connected to the PUMP CONTROL input on the connection box by usage of Type 306/1 or 306/2 Blue Phantom2 adapter cable (see Section 6.3)
