MatriXX Resolution Detector
Detector Sensors and Housing
Detector Sensors
The sensors in the MatriXX Resolution are vented pixel ionization chambers. Each chamber has its own measurement channel. When chambers are irradiated, the air in the chambers is ionized. The released charge is separated by the electrical field between the bottom and the top electrodes. The current, which is proportional to the dose rate, is measured and digitized by the current sensitive analog-to-digital converters. The SW analyzes the measured 2D dose distribution, e.g., compares with the one calculated by the TPS.
The MatriXX Resolution has 1521 chambers arranged in a 39 × 39 grid that cover an active field of 25.3 cm × 25.3 cm at 100 cm SDD. The effective point of measurement of the central chamber is positioned in the isocenter. The distance between the individual chambers is 6.5 mm center-to-center.

| Power button | On / Off |
Powers the device on / off:
LED ring:
|
| Red LED | Error | Illuminated if an error occurs. |
| Green LED | WLAN | Illuminated if a WLAN is connected |
| Green LED | Activity |
On: system booted Blinking: web-interface activated; the device may be configured via the web-interface after pressing the Config button. |
After powering on the device, ensure the red error LED is off. If the red LED is ON, try the following:
- Turn device off and then on again.
- If the red LED goes ON again, short press the Config button, connect to the network configuration webinterface, download the logs by clicking Full log > All button (see Section 4.1.6) and send the logs to the Service Department of IBA Dosimetry (Section 9.1).
- After that, or if the web-interface cannot be accessed, reset the device to default values via the Config button by a long press (about 10 s), and then reconfigure the network settings (Section 4.1.2).
- If red LED still is ON, contact an IBA Dosimetry representative (Section 9.1).
Data communication
- Used in wireless mode (standard operations)
MatriXX Resolution provides Wireless according to IEEE-802.11 for standard operations. - Used in wired mode (optional)
The MatriXX Resolution provides 10/100/100 MBit wired networking according to IEEE-802.3.
Power Supply
The device can be powered by battery or external power supply. The power switch of the device controls both the battery and external power supply.
Battery
The MatriXX Resolution device is provided with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, Inspired Energy, NH2057QE34, 7.2V 13.6Ah (97.9 Wh). A lithium-ion battery charger, Inspired Energy CH5000X, single bay standard smart charger / calibrator without power cord. Please refer to the battery health and safety information in Section 7.8.5 before use.
Removing battery:
- Push onto the battery compartment hatch and then move the latches on both sides of the battery chamber to the outside position so that a red indicator is visible.
- Open the hatch and remove the battery by pulling the plastic tab.
Installing battery:
- Open the battery chamber and insert the battery with the contacts facing upwards into the battery compartment.
- Close the battery compartment hatch and move the locking latches to the inside position. A green indicator should be visible next to both latches.
Note: Please recharge the battery when the battery charge indicator shows only one bar left, which indicates a remaining capacity of 0% to 20%. The device will switch off when the remaining charge level drops below 20%.
External Power Supply
As an option, a wired external plug-in power supply is available:
- Manufacturer: CINCON, model: TR30RAM090
- Input: 100-240 V 0.3-0.4 A, and 47-63 Hz
- Output: 9.0 V, 3.0 A DC
Plug the power supply into the device only when it is in use.
Note: The plug-in power supply does not charge the battery. Please charge the battery with the provided battery charger.
Cooling
The MatriXX Resolution has forced-air cooling via a fan inside the housing.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: COOLING FANS
Before switching on the device, ensure that the ventilation openings in the housing is not blocked to avoid insufficient cooling.
Ensure that the fan is running properly after switching on the device. If the fan does
not function properly, contact the Service Department (see Section 9.1).
