Dose Volume Histogram (DVH)
The DVH includes comparative curves for the TPS dose calculation (solid line), MCSquare/SciMoCa dose calculation (dashed line), and Logs-files (dotted line).
Under the Dose Analysis tab, the DVH calculation parameters can be configured. For information on Dose
Evaluation, see Section 5.2.2.5.
- Select if the DVH should be calculated automatically.
- Add the appropriate Dose sampling value (1).
To exclude an ROI, click the Add ROI button (2) and enter the name of the ROI.
Click Save.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: DO NOT USE SPECIAL CHARACTERS FOR ROI NAMES
If special characters are used when naming ROI structures myQA iON may not be able to calculate the DVH.Please avoid using special characters when naming ROIs: e.g., % \ / : * ? “ < > | +
Clinical Goals
Clinical goals are the user-defined evaluation criteria for specific ROIs. The Clinical Goals page in the Display tab lists the Dose templates and structures, and the clinical goals assigned to them.
Under the Clinical Goals:
- A new dose template can be added (1)
- An existing dose template can be edited (2), cloned (3), or deleted (4)
- New structures can be added to an existing dose template (5)
- New clinical goals can be added to an existing structure in a dose template (6
IMPORTANT NOTICE: CLINICAL GOAL TEMPLATES
The Clinical Goals templates that are provided are based on standard dose constraints. They provide conservative dose constraints. The user can edit and utilize these templates only after verifying the validity and accuracy of the constraints used to analyze clinical goals.
Create a new dose template
- Click the + New dose template button to create a new dose template.
- Give the template a name and click Save.
When creating a dose template, the name of the ROI in the structure set must match the name in the template, otherwise the dose evaluation will display the results as "n/a".
Edit a dose template
- Click the Pencil
icon to edit an existing dose template.
- Click Save.
Clone a dose template
- Click the Clone icon
to create a copy of an existing template.
In the Clone dose template pop-up, use the Name field to name the newly cloned template.
- Click Save to confirm and close the pop-up.
Delete a dose template
- Click the Trash icon
to delete an existing template.
- Click Delete dose template to confirm deleting the dose template.
Add a new structure
Select a Dose template and click + New structure.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Structure name (please avoid using special characters; e.g., % \ / : * ? “ < > | + )
- Type: Max. Dose, Mean Dose, Min. Dose, Volume (cc), Volume (%), or Dose
- Comparison: > , >= , = , < , or <=
- Dose and/or Volume values (in the respective boxes)
- Click Save.
- Edit a structure by clicking the Edit button next the to the specific clinical goal.
- Delete a structure by clicking the Delete button next the to the specific clinical goal.
Add a new clinical goal
Select the Dose template and click + New clinical goal; Existing clinical goals are listed to the right.
Note: Fields in the dialog will change based on Type selection

- Click Save.
- Edit a clinical goal by clicking the Edit button next the to the specific clinical goal.
- Delete a clinical goal by clicking the Delete button next the to the specific clinical goal.
