Issue: After installing the latest MagicMaX software on a new PC, the MagicMaX device may no longer be recognized by the computer.
Cause: The latest MagicMaX software installs a new USB driver automatically.
For older MagicMaX devices, this new USB driver may not be fully compatible. As a result, the device may not be detected correctly after software installation.
Solution: To restore communication with older MagicMaX devices, please install the Legacy USB Driver in addition to the standard driver.
How to install the Legacy Driver:
Open the USB stick delivered with your MagicMaX system
Navigate to:
USB-Driver > Legacy Driver
Run the driver installation
Restart the computer if required
Reconnect the MagicMaX device
After installation, the older MagicMaX should be recognized again.
Recommendation: We recommend a recalibration every 2 years.
During calibration at our facility, we can also update older MagicMaX devices so they can work with the newer USB driver architecture.
