Question
How do I set up my Gantry Angle Sensor?
Answer
Mounting the Gantry Angle Sensor (GAS) for the first use
The GAS uses bull’s eye spirit levels in two perpendicular directions for leveling at gantry angle 0°and 90°. The two lock-screws lock the position when the final position is reached.
Step 1
Mounting the base on the gantry surface
Tighten the two lock-screws so that there is no movement among the parts in the unit.
Turn the gantry to 0°; select a position in the gantry where it is flat and parallel to the gantry rotation plane. Then use a piece of soft cloth, wet with isopropanol, to clean the surface.
Remove the protection foil of the adhesive tape and hold the complete unit to the place where it is supposed to be fixed. View from the top, and when the bubble of the 0°-level is in the middle axis that is perpendicular to the gantry surface, press firmly so that the base sticks on the gantry surface.

Step 2
Adjusting the GAS at gantry angle 0°
Ensure the Gantry is still at 0°. Loosen slightly the 0°-lock-screw. View from the top. When the middle of bubble of the 0°-level is in the middle of the bull’s eye, tighten the 0°-lock-screw.
Step 3
Adjusting the GAS at gantry angle 90°
Turn the Gantry 90°.
Loosen slightly the 90°-lock-screw (to adjust the bottom part of the GAS relative to the holder). View from the top, and when the middle of bubble of the 90°-level is in the middle of the bull’s eye, tighten the 90°-lock-screw.
Step 4
Connect the GAS to the system
Ensure that the power of the MatriXX is off. Connect the GAS cable to the RS232 Service port of the MatriXX.
