How do I perform typical myQA Patients workflows?
Answer
Create a patient and a project by DICOM import
CASE: Creating a patient and the attached project by file-based DICOM import
Step 1
In the ribbon of the myQA Patients > Patients/Projects > Patient browser, click Import DICOM.
Step 2
Click the File based tab on the top of the Select a study to import dialog.
Step 3
Click the Folder button and then browse and select the folder containing the DICOM data.
Step 4
Click Update. The DICOM studies are displayed.
Step 5
Select a study. Then click Ok. The Import … dialog shows all DICOM instances of the study.
Step 6
Check the Patient and RTDOSE boxes.
Step 7
Click RTDOSE to highlight it.
Step 8
Select a slice orientation in the Select Slice group; the data can be also aligned to the iso-center by clicking the Align the data on iso-center button. Then click Ok.
Performing Measurements
General measurement procedure follows the item order of the Measurement ribbon from left to right.
Step 1
Click the icon of the attached project on the right hand side of the window.
Step 2
Click Measurement on the top to display the Measurement ribbon.
Step 3
In the Equipment group, select the correct machine and detector, and then click Connect.
Step 4
Perform background measurement:
Click the lower part of the Background icon and then enter the sampling time.
Click the upper part of the Background icon, to start the background measurement.
Step 5
Click Angle Sensor in the ribbon, and then follow instruction in the GAS Calibration wizard.
Step 6
Click the Settings icon to open the Measurement configuration dialog, and define the settings in the Machine, Detector, and Calibration tabs.
Step 7
Turn on the measurement the MatriXX and then pre-irradiate the detector. The recommended pre-irradiation conditions are:
SDD 100 cm, Field size 24 cm x 24 cm, 500 MU
Step 8
Click the middle icon of the Measurement group, select a measurement mode, and then click to define settings.
Step 9
Turn on the beam and click the Start icon.
Step 10
Click the Stop icon when the irradiation finishes.
Import Film Images
In Verification Compare > Projects Explorer, select a folder; click Import Film Panel in the Home ribbon to open myQA Film Panel.
Step 1
Define the parameters in the Edit menu > Options dialog.
Step 2
Open the relevant films by clicking File > Open, and then browse and select the images.
Scan for lateral correction, e.g.,background_ multiChannel.tiff
(Optional) empty scan image (to apply it, right-click it in the Film List, and then select Empty Scan. If empty scan image is used, it should be used throughout the complete procedure).
Dose reference image containing at least 10 known dose exposures
Images to be calibrated
Registration
Perform film registration. The available functions are:
Defining the film orientation
Flipping/Rotating/Inverting the film
Cropping the film
Film alignment
Setting origin
Calibration
Create lateral correction
Step 1
In the myQA Film Panel window, to select the image to be used and rename it ‘background.tiff’.
Step 2
Normally, there is area on the edge of the film not clean or not covered by the image. Excluded this area with the Crop
Step 3
In Task Panel and under to expand the Calibration > Scanner, click Calibration correction matrix. The fitted curve and normalized curve are displayed.
Step 4
Apply the lateral correction to the films: Select the image if applying to one image or tick the checkbox of images in the Film List Click Apply corrections.
Create Film Calibration
Step 1
In the myQA Film Panel window, click File > Open, and then browse and open the film with known dose values for Calibration.
Step 2
Enter a value in the Task Panel > Calibration > Options > Measure area square side box.
Step 3
In Used Calibration Info tabs click New calibration in the Task Panel. The current date is automatically entered in Calibration Info.

Enter the proper information in the following text fields:

Enter the film type, the batch ID, and the name of the operator.
Step 6
Select the channel(s) to be calibrated (e.g., multi channels)
Step 7
Optional: Enter additional information in the Comments
Step 8
(Optional) in Film List, right-click the empty scan image and select Empty Scan.
Step 9
Right-click in the image, and select Show cursor in the context menu.
Step 10
Define steps: position the cursor at the point where you want to define the dose. Select Add new step. A square appears and shows the area for averaging value. The OD value is displayed in the OD column in the Calibration Data Repeat for each point. More points can be added by opening another dose reference image if available.

Enter the dose value for each field in the Dose

Click Save calibration to save the calibration data as *.cal file in myQA Film Panel.
Apply calibrations
Step 1
If the film calibrations have not been loaded yet, in the Task Panel, click Calibration > Load calibration to load the desired calibration file.
Step 2
Check mark the film(s) to be calibrated in the Film List panel and click Apply the current calibration to the selected non-calibration films for applying the calibrations to the selected films in the Task Panel.
Import films to the opened project
Step 1
Check mark the film in the Film List and then click Send.
Performing Gamma Analysis (Verification Comparison)
Step 1
In the Project Explorer, right-click a measurement that contains the dataset to be compared under the Measurement folder and then click Compute Integral in the context menu.
Step 2
Click the Measurement folder. The computed integral dataset is listed in the lower section of the Project Explorer. Drag this dataset to the Compare pane.
Step 3
In the Import folder, press and drag the dose plan to the Reference pane.
In the Results pane (lower-right), perform, e.g., the Gamma Index calculation:
If an analysis calculation is performed for the first time: click the Gamma Index icon.
Step 4
After any analysis calculation: click Tools and then select Analysis. Click the gamma dropdown list and select Gamma Index. The calculation will start. Wait until the graph display update
Analysis data in the Analysis pane (upper-right)
The Analysis pane provides four graphics options for visualization comparisons and each graph displays the data from the Reference and Compare datasets separately or simultaneously. The Result dataset can be displayed individually:
The two profiles of each axis of a 2D matrix, , , or , depending on the orientation of the 2D image.
Histogram, .
Isodose, .
The graph is displayed by clicking its icon on the right-vertical tool bar.
Comparison conclusion
Step 1
Click the Approval icon in the Home ribbon of the Verification compare workspace to open the Approval dialog.
Step 2
Select one of the conclusion icons and enter comments in the Approver’s comment box if desired.
Opened Approved Need for Revision Declined
Save a project and print a report
Step 1
Click Save in the Home ribbon of the Verification compare workspace.
Step 2
Click the Print dropdown list in the Home ribbon and select one template form.
Step 3
In the opened Plan Verification Report dialog, select a template from the Templates combo box.
Step 4
Click one of the buttons on the top right area of the dialog to export (as Html, Rtf, or PDF format) or print the report.
