How to decide which software installation types should I use in myQA?
Answer
There are three software installation types in myQA:
■ Combined type – for local deployment
■ Client type – for client deployment
■ Server type – for client deployment
Here are the details description on them:
Combined type
We usually select this type when the database and myQA are installed on the same computer.
In detail, the myQA SW, the SQL Server instance containing myQA database, connection file (myQA-DB-Connection.ICSI, created by myQA Database Wizard), and Database Configuration Tool are installed on one computer.
Client type
If the myQA SW and the SQL Server are to be installed onto different PCs, the PC where the myQA application is located is called the client PC, and usually, we select Client type on the client PC.
When select the client type of installation, the myQA software, connection file (myQA-DB-Connection.ICSI, created by myQA Database Wizard, and Database Configuration Tool are installed.
Server type
If the myQA SW and the SQL Server are to be installed onto different PC and the PC (or server rack) where the SQL server is located is called the remote PC, and usually, we select Server type on remote PC.
When server type of installation is used, the SQL Server instance containing myQA database, myQA Database Wizard, and Database Configuration Tool are installed.
