Question
How to convert *.mcc to generic ascii *.csv for the dose curve import in COMPASS?
Answer
To import dose curve data in the COMPASS Beam Modelling Tool, you need to use a supported data format, such as Eclipse (.data), RFA300 (.acs), OmniPro-Accept (.rfb), Generic ASCII (.csv), or Oncentra Masterplan (*.d).
Unfortunately, COMPASS does not support the *.mcc format, so you need to convert the data to a compatible format.
There are three options to resolve this issue:
1. Direct ASCII export from the PTW software:
The PTW software allows you to export data in ASCII format, which can be imported into COMPASS. This option may require a purchasable add-on from PTW.
2. Manual conversion to a matching format:
You can manually convert the data to the generic ASCII format supported by COMPASS. The specification of the generic ASCII format is available in the User's Guide Appendix "Dose Curve Formats," or in this Help Center article: What is the exact specification of the comma separated generic ascii *.csv for the COMPASS dose curve import?
3. Use a converter tool:
A converter tool is available for download that can convert .mcc files to the .csv format. However, this tool is not tested or validated, and manual correction may be necessary. Please find the tool attached to this article. Use it with caution.
