Question
Why is it not possible to measure the background and to acquire more pictures with Lynx Gigabit and Lynx HD after the upgrade to Windows 11?
Answer
After the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, IBA Dosimetry noticed that it was not possible to acquire more than 2 images with a Lynx Gigabit and Lynx HD. The main consequence is that it was impossible to measure a background using myQA Fastrack PT or myQA Machines PT.
After investigations done with FIMEL, we concluded that the default Lynx2D driver automatically set by Windows during the upgrade is creating the issue. There is an easy way to fix this by changing the Lynx driver with the following instructions.
Driver Change Instructions
The solution is to change the driver, called “Point Grey Lightweight Filter”. This can be done using the following steps:
- Select the Start button, then type settings > Network & internet
- Select the Advanced network settings button, then click the Edit button in the “More adapter options” settings
- Remove the current driver, called “Point Gray Lightweight Filter Driver 09/11/2019” by selecting the driver and clicking Uninstall.
- Confirm the uninstallation by clicking Yes.
- Install the correct driver, “Point Gray Lightweight Filter Driver 12/29/2017, 2.7.3.111”, by clicking the Install button.
- Select Service and click Add.
- Under PointGrey select the “Point Gray Lightweight Filter Driver 12/29/2017, 2.7.3.111” driver. Click OK to confirm the selection.
- Ensure that the new driver appears in the list and close the Ethernet Properties window.
